What Muscles Can You Work Everyday?

When people join a gym, one of the first things they learn is that they shouldn't work out the same muscle group every day. This is mostly true, but there are a few things that don't fit.

You don't work out the same muscle group every day because your muscles need time to heal and grow after a workout.

Calves are one of the most stubborn muscles, and for many people, they are the weakest link in their bodies. The calves are a small group of muscles that are used to getting beat up a lot, so they heal quickly.

As a general rule, you can train your calves as long as they aren't hurting. Because you stand, walk, and run throughout the day, your calves can handle a lot more than a few sets of 10-15 reps. The forearms are one of the muscles that get the least attention, and not many people work them out. Your arms can look bigger and stronger if your forearms, biceps, and triceps are all the same size and shape.

If your forearms aren't very big, you might want to do overhand and underhand wrist curls at the end of your workouts. You should be able to get Popeye arms if you do three sets of 15-20 reps. Some people go to the gym every single day, which isn't always a bad thing. Rich Piana was known to work out seven days a week. Even on his days off, he worked out his calves and forearms. (This will come up again later in this article...)

This is not a good idea because your muscles need rest days to grow and get stronger, but for some people it works because of their work schedule, workout program, or because they have to work out almost every day.

(For example, I could only go to the gym Monday through Friday, so I had to work out every day. I couldn't rest during the week because the gym was closed, but I could on the weekends.)

So, how can you work out your muscles every day? Every day, you can work out your calves, forearms, biceps, abs, traps, side laterals, rear delts, and upper back. Let's talk about all of these and what you can do to improve them.

Once more, you should always take days off. But sometimes people can work out their muscles every day and see amazing results. Calf muscles are one of the hardest to build (as long as you do have to rest every now and then). Because of this, most people just don't bother to work them out at all, since it seems like no matter what you do, they stay the same size.

But a lot of serious bodybuilders force their calves to grow by working them out every day. This is why:

You use your calves pretty much all the time. Your calves are used every time you walk or move around. So, working them out only two or three times a week won't help them grow at all, which makes sense.

You have to "overload" your muscles for them to grow. That means you have to force them to do something they don't usually do and make them feel overwhelmed if you want them to grow. Since you use your calves all day, you have to work them out every day to keep your body in shape.

Also, if you look at how muscles usually heal, you can see that your calves heal themselves every day and are usually good to go by the next day. It's good that we evolved this way, because it would be a pain if you couldn't walk for a few days because you walked too far one day.
