What Builds Your Triceps?

Almost every upper body movement you do every day requires strong arms, and your triceps do most of the heavy lifting. You use your triceps every time you push something, whether it's a door, a stroller, a lawnmower, or a barbell.

As the name suggests, the triceps have three different heads. Some of these are the long head, the lateral head, and the middle head. When you work out your triceps, all of these heads contract, but some moves focus on different parts of the triceps. The best way to build strong, firm triceps is to choose exercises that hit all those muscle fibers from every angle.

How should you work out your triceps?

Putting together a triceps workout can help you move better in everyday life. Also, you can't train other muscle groups without strong triceps. 1 If you want to do push-ups or chest presses, you need strong triceps. Here are some things to think about when making a triceps workout plan.

Get warm

Before any strength-training workout, including triceps, it's important to warm up. It gets blood moving to your muscles and raises their temperature, which helps keep you from getting hurt. 2 Start your workout with some fast walking, jogging, jumping jacks, or calisthenics.

Train Multiple Muscle Groups

Tricep workouts are different from other strength workouts because many of the exercises focus solely on the triceps and don't work any other muscle groups. Because of this, people often like to work out more than one muscle group at the same time. But what other muscles should you work out in addition to your triceps?

People often work out their shoulders, chest, and triceps at the same time because they all help with many of the same functional movements. At least two days should pass before you work out the same muscle group again.Even though they feel good when you're doing them, crushing curl after curl after curl isn't enough to build arms that will bust your sleeves. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you want huge arms, you're going to have to do tricep exercises and workouts.

Consider it. Even though they are hidden behind your back, your triceps make up more than two-thirds of the mass in your upper arms. That's a lot of strength to ignore. To build big, strong triceps, you have to build big, strong arms.

But if you thought you could get big arms by adding tricep exercises to the end of your workout, you should think again. A study published in the Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport found that if you want to grow small muscle groups like your shoulders, biceps, and triceps, you should work them first before moving on to bigger muscles like your chest and back.
